Frequently Asked Questions

I am a carer, can I have a vaccination?

Unless you are a full time carer, which means that you are in receipt of the carer’s allowance or the person you are caring for is completely dependant on you, you will not be eligible to receive the vaccination any sooner than your age cohort.

I want to book a holiday

We are unable to prioritise vaccinations for travelling and cannot answer individual questions relating to the vaccination with regard to foreign travel.

I have received a letter but do not want to attend the location given to me.

You can choose not to go to the hub allocated to you, it is entirely your choice, but you will need to wait to be contacted to be invited to the surgery. Please do not contact the surgery, just wait for us to contact you.

I am a health worker, where can I get the vaccination?

If you did not get your first vaccination at Colden Common Surgery you will need to contact the booking link which you will find on the News page of the website.

I have had my first vaccination, when will I get my second vaccination?

You will be contacted by us within the 11-12 week window, please wait for us to contact you and do not call the surgery about this.

I have had a letter and an invitation from you but there are no appointments available.

Our appointments are restricted by the number of vaccines we receive and this is often at quite short notice. Appointments are released as and when we receive the vaccine, so do please keep trying to book every few days.

How soon after catching COVID can I have a vaccination?

You need to wait 28 days after your positive COVID test before you can have a vaccination.
